On the 1.8 public test realm in one of the last patches, the ability to eat, drink, use potions and cast cure posion was added to a druid's Moonkin form.
Caydiem said that Cure Poison was added intentionally.
Currently in the researching bugs sticky in the bug report forum Cure Poison is marked as being removed ("fixed") from Moonkin form.
Cay, can you confirm/deny this for us poor druids? :/
Thanks in advance.[ post edited by Justicar ]

I did not say that Cure Poison was added intentionally. The other abilities (eating, drinking, and using potions; all abilities that should be available when humanoid), yes, but Cure Poison is a Restoration spell and should not be available in Moonkin form.
I apologize if you ever received the impression that I said that was intentional, but that was never the case.

Q u o t e: Thanks for the response! Much appreciated, this will clear up some confusion on the druid forums.
I remember everyone was happy when it showed up as available at the time of these other changes, and seemed widely known. Too bad. :/
Curious then, is there any reason that Druids have cure poison as opposed to abolish poison? The mana cost is now the same, and the only actual difference that I can see is that cure poison is always supposed to work whereas abolish poison seems to have the ability for the poison to resist.
edit: apologies, I'll change the name of the thread. I was unaware that posting a CM's name in a subject line was taboo. :/
From my own experiences, Cure Poison works instantly, whereas Abolish Poison doesn't "tick" right away but will remove poisons over a longer period. Cure is good if there's a highly damaging poison on someone with low hitpoints, say, whereas Abolish is good if you're being constantly re-poisoned -- say, by a fast-hitting, poison-proccing monster -- and you don't happen to have a Shaman in your group to put down Poison Cleansing Totem.
And no, not even if you ask nicely will we keep a Restoration spell on a Balance-only form. ;)

Q u o t e: Looks like she'll get to learn something new on Tuesday! Assuming she checks back on this thread... :/
*shrug* I'm just going off my own experiences. Honestly, while it has on occasion removed the poison instantly, more often than not I don't see the poison leave right away. Could have just been a lot of oddly-timed reapplications, but I'm not sure about that. :P
