Subject: Do most racial abilities suck for a reason? |

I look at the racial abilities and find that all if not most just suck.
It kind of make me think, "Why should I care about race when the class gives all the abilities?" And then I know that the only class that has racial consideration is Priest.
I wonder if the developers thought of putting in something like lvl 50 racial abilities that require a quest or faction rating to obtain.
Why not lvl 20 or 30 or 40? Well, level 40 has too many things going for it. Lvl 20 seems too low, but level 30 could work too.

Racial abilities are meant somewhat to be minor boosts or a helping hand, and not major differences in gameplay. The developers want to make sure that the races are not separated by overly powerful abilities. You should be able to pick the race you want to play and not have to think about the racial abilities playing a major role in your day-to-day adventures. Again, they should be helpful, but not detrimental to your character's outcome if you pick one race over another.

I made no claims that a racial ability may or may not be more desirable over another for specific play styles. My point was that there are many other factors that play a much larger role of a character's ability to be viable within the game.
We are aware of the issues stated with racial abilities, as we see them quite often. We will continue to work on racial traits until we are satisfied with their balance and role in the game.
