While gathering information from players is an integral part of my job, fortunately, I don't rely on them to inform me that we've opened new realms. I actually wrote the post yesterday when I was informed that two new realms were slated to go live today in the early afternoon. I then waited until I received confirmation that the realms were live and accepting players.
Why did I wait?
If I had announced that the new realms were going live, the large number of players waiting around to create characters would've become rather upset when the ETA I provided was missed.
