Can we, the players, have the ability to make personal *stickies*. They wouldn't be sticky for anyone else just our own view.
Can we have a thread rating system? 1-5 stars should due. And bind the voting to the account, not the avatar so players can't vote multiple times.
When we click on the magnify glass to view blue posts can it sort the view order based on the thread it was clicked in?
Can we have a few more BML Formatting Codes? Like colors and styles. You can remove blue of course. But some red and yellow and green would be nice.
And how about a few emoticons :)
Anyways, keep up the great work!

A way to flag posts so you could more easily find them is definitely something we'd like, though not quite in the way you suggest.
There are no plans currently to make a player thread rating system, as that can backfire horribly.
Potential sorting methods are something that awaits a more robust (and functional) search feature.
BML colors and styles are, again, probably something we don't want to introduce due to the nature of the community right now.
Emoticons would be nice, but are very low priority.
We're in the process of developing new forums. (Yes, we've explored prebuilt forum packages and no, we're not going with those for several reasons.) The sort of thing you mention is rather low priority on the whole, with better functionality being paramount. I don't have an ETA for this revamp, but I assure you, we want better forums just as much as you do if not moreso.

Q u o t e: You didn't mention the "read by Blizzard" marker - it seems like a very good idea. Although I can see the "we know you read this post Blizzard - what are you doing about it!" response, it would reduce unnecessary bumping.
We have no plans to implement that, either. While we do try to read everything, we don't do so the instant the post is created. People would know, therefore, if we hadn't yet read it and continuously bump their posts until they got this tag. They would also know when we were in a meeting, say, by the lack of "read" tags showing up, thus giving forum trolls the green light to have a field day. It would therefore become the sole job of one person to click on these posts without reading them just to get the read tag out there and calm people down. This would defeat the purpose of the tag.
So no, no plans to do that.

Q u o t e: Caydiem, please get them to fix the 25+ page breakage :(
We have plans for that, too.

Q u o t e: Search function. Search for posts by user in thread.
Also this current forum... and the wow site bugs out with certian mozilla builds.
Yes, obviously a search function is one of our highest priorities.

Heard it all before. Good job at PR though, parrot.

Q u o t e: It occurs to me that you've only responded to those who've suggested ideas, and confirmed them.
Are you able to tell us what functionality you indeed hope to have in the final forums? Not an ETA as to when these changes are due, but what are your top-five things that must be in the new system?
1. Search (and everything to do with it)
2. Pages past 25+ not breaking
3 4 5 ?
No, I can't list the full features, because I'm unsure if that's what we're going to get. Rest assured, however, that we (meaning the Community Team) are far from novices when it comes to knowing what works and what's most desired out of a forum. We didn't have input into these forums -- we have it in the revamp.

Q u o t e: What about an alternative for similiar effect Caydiem, give the MvP's a flag for follow up so that if they see threads they think deserve a response they can flag for you.
That is not the MVP's duty, nor would I want it to become their duty.

Q u o t e: I never meant to imply obligation, just something they could do by choice. I see a couple of threads every day that really deserve attention that'll go by the wayside 'cause you're all asleep and I'd flag em if I could or will throw them a bump.
Its probably the fact I'm oceanic time zone and rarely get a chance to catch an CMs eye that makes me suggest it.
If it was a "choice", it would still become their duty, regardless of original intent. :P
