Subject: Blood Elves' flavor |

Please post here if you've ever rolled Horde and have a big, big problem with Blood Elves' flavor with respect to being the new Horde race.

Everybody knows by now how the Blood Elves are justified in becoming the new Horde race by the lore. Some people care about the lore and actually read the books lying around the game to learn more. Personally, I couldn't care less. What I do care about, with a passion that burns at the very core of my soul, is the flavor of the game, most essentially the difference between Horde and Alliance.
I rolled Horde because I wanted to be a rabble-rousing, uncouth, rude heathen. I want belch and threaten people with the wrath of doom and laugh maniacally. To a greater or lesser degree, all Horde races currently allow me to do this. Even the Tauren, who are kind of the goody-goodies of the Horde, are big hairy beasts.
The Alliance, on the other hand, are for the most part noble, well-behaved, and so on. (Hey if that's your thing, fine.)
My point is that all the current Horde races are different while maintaining an overall Horde flavor. And the same goes for alliance.
But now these Blood Elves come along, with screenshots of their home city reminding me of the magic coach in Disney's Cinderella... WTF? Clearly Blizzard has seen how much more popular Alliance is than Horde so they're trying to give us a race that appeals to people who are more into glass slippers and roses than wardrums and dripping green ichor. Well I say screw Blood Elves, and screw the new Alliance race too, if they turn out to be Horde-flavored masquerading as Alliance.

I actually clicked this thread thinking it was going to be a Gnomish cookbook excerpt.
If you can't spell "Coreiel", just say "Feathers".

This is untrue.
Those who played the demo at Blizzcon can attest that the Blood-Elves are their own models. Additionally, even the version at Blizzcon should not be considered the "final" version. That will be seen when the expansion is released, and not before.
