Subject: Tier .5?
I've heard many, many people talking about this. What is it? Could I have a link to a page with information about these new sets?

We are working on content that is basically a "Dungeon 2" set. It's current concept is additional quest content and a resulting armor set. Unfortunately, there are no specifics on the armor or stats as of yet. The acquisition of the pieces varies, with the largest group participation being no larger than a UBRS run.

That purple, for some reason, makes everyone warm inside (regardless of the actual stats).

Heh, yeah I realize that. The devs are aiming for stats of comparable quality to an MC set. This could result in a mixture of blues and purples. Again, things haven't been finalized, but the color purple will be involved.

I think he means it'll be 2nd tier blue, 1 above beaststalker for instance.

They of course won't be giving epics to non raiders because people wouldn't farm raids and keeping paying.

I agree with the first statement, but not so much with the second. It is a "Dungeon 2" set because of the methods by which it can be obtained. There never was a "Tier 0". Those terms were only applied to raid instance gear like MC or AQ and "Tier 1" was the initial standard for raid gear.

Dungeon sets were something that you could accomplish with small groups (and to be sure, something developed as precedent). Dungeon 2 sets are something we want to involve quest chains, item collection and smaller group dungeons. Should raiders wish to acquire this set, it should pose no significant "disruption" to the game economy or otherwise. It is intended as a wholely seperate manner of progression.
