Subject: Cay-Changes in Blizzard view of world events?
Some months ago, in a discussion regarding world events, you stated that Blizzard did not want to implement content that new players would not have access to.

This new event, the opening of Ahn'Qiraj, represents content directly opposite of this statement. This is a one time event that, once completed, will not be repeatable by future players.

Admittedly, this event will make little real change in the long run. The only rewards are the opening to all of new content, rep boost with the base factions, and magic items. The rep boost and magic items are possible to get through other means, so future players will have access to similar rewards, even if not through the same opportunity.

I don't have the exact quote, so I may very well be mis-stating your comment, but in any event I would like to know if this is a (welcome) shift in Blizzard policy regarding "world events," a one time deal, or a sign of future content that was always planned to work this way.

To see more world events that make even just cosmetic changes in the world around us would be quite welcome. Does Ahn'Qiraj mean we can expect more content like this in the future?

The huge quest will still be available, thus granting the larger part of the event to everyone after the fact.

While I appreciate (and share) your enthusiasm for such events, I would expect any such "one-time" events to be very rare, if they choose to do more.
