Subject: It's always the same!!!
How come the greatest threats to intelligent races in games and movies is always some kind of bug race. For example...this latest patch in WoW, Starcraft, Starship Troopers, Alien...etc etc. Leave the poor bugs alone they didnt do anything to anyone. Why does it always have to be about the bugs!!!

The group of insects, arachnids, arthropods, and other creepy crawlies collectively regarded as "bugs" are often regarded as one of mankind's primal fears. They sting you, bite you, and can destroy food supplies. Bugs can come in the hundreds at once, too. Combine all individual fears and concerns regarding such creatures and you have a collective element that can affect a great many people on a primal level.

Therefore, it's a natural pick for a malevolent element in writing that threatens to overtake the land or destroy humanity.

Q u o t e:
plus they have a thorax!

Never trust beings with thoraces.

Hey, wait... isn't the part of the mammalian body between the neck and the abdomen technically called the thorax?

:D

Rotund, if you'd like to report a bug, you can post about it in the Bug Report forum. QA is looking into it. I am in the process of getting an updated known issues list, and there is a small patch being created to address the things that cannot be hotfixed.

(We've been hotfixing issues since the patch came out Tuesday, and several are already live.)

However, I do ask that you do not bring up unrelated -- regardless of clever segues -- topics in such threads. Thank you.

Q u o t e:
More than that Cay, is the fact that insects et al are so completely Other than we are. They are alien. They have too many legs. Too many eyes. They wear their skeletons on the outside. And yes, some posion, some trap and incapacitate their prey for later consumption, and a great many are cannibals.

There was an episode of the X-files that touched on this. They represent everything that is entirely Not Us, and therefore triggers that lizard-brain "EWW! ICK!! KILL IT!!" reaction.

Very true.

Q u o t e:
You got owned still Cay.

How, precisely, is waiting on information "owned"? Information is not always available to me immediately, as in the case of the updated known issues list. I can't always post on issues. I do when I have information.

Q u o t e:
Because I know you guys have more information then you really say you do.

You had to say what he already said he needed to do, you are like a robot with these people.

Just posting on useless threads like this, wont make people look at your differently.

The thing you need to do, is try to help as much people as you could.

Instead of roaming around General forums all the time, you need to roam bug section the most, and barely be coming here.

Why do I need to roam the bug section, precisely? QA reads that forum constantly and use it in researching and fixing issues. I appreciate your suggestion, but I am primarily involved with player feedback; Bug Reports are rightly handled by our QA folks. There are also Technical Support representatives that aid folks on the Tech Support forum.

I understand your motivation, I think, but I would like you to expound upon your ideas on precisely how I should be helping people in forums that are not technically my jurisdiction. :)
