Heh, discuss.... You know its true.
How about making a level 60 guilded person a MVP next month.

If I post on an alt, my text shows up the same bright blue; therefore, sorry, you're wrong.
The MVPs are not here to give feedback; they're here to help people. I will grant people MVP status based on their posts -- not their level, class, or race. That's all there is to it.

Q u o t e: But what if you have another accooooount...
Please. If I had another account, don't you think I'd prefer to use it with no special recognition whatsoever? I don't want MVP status; I've got a Blizzard poster account, which is more than enough.

You seem to be a little unclear on the nature of MVPs.
I'm the one who appoints them.
I don't care what character they use to post. It's the content of the post that matters, not the avatar.
You know what? Some of the current MVPs are, in fact, guilded level 60s. I know this because I have access to such account information, which is a bit more credible than your random and unfounded speculation. They don't post with their 60s for their own reasons, and I respect that. I don't force them to, and I wouldn't; these things can unfortunately spill into the game, and if they want to keep it separate, I respect that.
Thank you for your feedback, but I am not and will not appoint people based on their posting avatar. This is not up for debate.

You don't know you're right, actually. You believe you are. Notable difference.
I, however, know that I am right.
They are different people. I eMailed them all myself, asking if they'd like to be MVPs. They accepted. I have access to the account information that also proves we are not, in fact, one and the same.
You, however, are trolling if you continue this farce. I have refuted your claim. Any further continuation is nothing but trolling unless you have something new to bring to the table other than "I am right".

If anything, the MVPs are judged more harshly by me than others, and I have taken steps in the past. If you see an inappropriate MVP behavior -- one that goes against the Code of Conduct -- eMail wowreportedpost@blizzard.com and I will take care of it.
Jiji, while I was a bit harsh, it doesn't change the fact that he's trolling and I will no longer tolerate it. It was a warning. He continued. He's reaping the consequences of doing so.

Thank you for your opinion, Maistre.
I am an Assistant Community Manager. A primary function of my job is to manage this community, as might be inferred from my job title.
In managing this community, I have chosen individuals who are generally helpful and correct in their responses and given them MVP status. The worth of their posts is, of course, subjective, but this forum has never claimed to be a democracy. It is run and managed by Blizzard employees.
If MVPs were decreed by vote... Nigma would be the first, I'd wager. While he certainly does have an.. interesting presence on the forums ( ;) ), he is not precisely the sort of person we'd want to grant MVP status.
So yes, I'm the one in charge of it and I promote them based on the needs of the community I manage. You didn't vote for me, either. ;)
Also, your assumption about forum response and percentages is interesting but incorrect. It's a natural conclusion to draw, mind, but as someone who has been working in this field for many a year, I can tell you that the nature of forum communities -- particularly ones where the players can speak directly to the company of the game in question -- is notably different from the playerbase at large. Again, I do appreciate your own opinion on the matter, however.[ post edited by Caydiem ]

Maistre...
People are best judged when they don't know they're being judged, in regards to choosing MVPs. We have a specific internal system for choosing them, and no, I don't choose to share it. Again, thanks for your feedback, but the way it's handled right now is adequate for the forum and the program's needs.
As for feedback vs. majority... one person can present an incredible argument. The forums are not necessarily representative of the playerbase as a whole, as people are more likely to be vocal when they're not happy about something. But because they're vocal when unhappy, board feedback can give us a good idea of players' reactions and issues.
I hope that's a little clearer for you. :)

All right, I'm going to stop thanking you for your feedback because you're starting to level ad hominem attacks.
This is your first and only warning -- I suggest you follow the Code of Conduct and do not insult the parties involved. An old adage of moderating forums is, "Attack the idea, not the person behind it."
I hope that's understood, Maistre. It saddens me that you resorted to insults and an attempt to qualify yourself through your age rather than continue civil discourse.
