Subject: Shift worker's need options. Please help.
Dear Blizzard Entertainment and fellow shift workers.

I've been playing World of Warcraft since the 2nd day of release. I've enjoyed it for a long time. However I've come across some things that has affected my game play. I'd like to inquire if I may, what is in the near future.

While you read this post, keep in mind I am a hard core player. I work 2nd shift.

The problem I'm having is this. I've been playing since day two, but I've yet to see end game. By end game I mean MC, BWL, and all these interesting and wonderful dungeons and new end game content coming out.

Because of the times I play 12:30am -- 5am EST every day. There are no BG's or anything else going on for that matter. I'm on a low pop server; it is not possible to get a group of this large caliber at this hour (trust me I've tried via chat, and forum server posts).

I as a hardcore player want to experience the end game content, however due to the circumstances cannot. What in the future will be in store to allow players that work 2nd and 3rd shift to explore these zones, and new content?

As I'm sure you can realize it's frustrating at not being able to see the game after 60.
Not only that but what's really frustrating is the imbalance this has caused. I'm walking around in greens and blues (which took me months to acquire as your hardcore gamer in UBRS, SCHOLO, ETC) where as others that play on normal peak times spent half that, and is three times if not greater more powerful then you are.

It really levy's the fights to an almost guaranteed win. When you're aimed shot crits for 500, when it used to do 1800+ its clear gear plays a big role. The advantages are too great, unless there's an equal opportunity.

This is not a post crying for epics. I've played many MMO games. I do not want to be given Epics. I want to bust my arse and earn them. However as of right now there is no options for me to do just that. What I'm asking for here folks is options.

Solo or duo instance versions of instances already implemented. Wouldn't be out of reach as far as a feesable idea. Make it just as hard, and you'd still have to get geared up for BWL from running MC ETC. But then of course those who raid and enjoy it (Hell I love it!) would be upset. So there again is a balance issue which I understand.

So where is the balanced medium?

After trying to get my hunter geared up for over a year, spending the entire weekends sitting in IF for this most part, I gave up. I decided to level over again. Because during the leveling process there is a balance of gear. A level 40 won't have 12 epics to fight you with; they have one or none (typically) which is a balanced level of entertainment. Compared to being one shotted or taking of small slivers of health at a time from your opponent when trying to stab/shoot/blast there epic attire to reach them.

It's pretty clear for I and many others were screwed. I really enjoy this game Blizzard. But now I almost have 5 60's and I'm leveling up another hunter again. I don't really desire too.

I desire to set foot in places I once couldn't and put in the time and effort as others are able too to earn what I need to even compete at this point.

Please consider these things, there's a group of people out here that want to earn there way to an equal level of competition but can't with the current resources in the way they are accessed.

If you could toss something my way in any hopes to a brighter future it sure would be welcomed. It's been pretty depressing lately leveling over the 6th time. Any thing to bring my sprits up to keep me at it would be appreciated.

Thanks
-Brad

It sounds like the Oceania realms would be more up your alley. They're still located in the US (Pacific time), but have a community focused more around your play time.

(And yes, Oceania folks, I do keep asking for more realms for you.)

Q u o t e:
OK, now just tell us how to transfer to these realms without starting over from scratch...

Certainly. Wait for the transfer system to launch. :)

Q u o t e:

Reaction #1: So, the official response for right now is "have a nice day, you're sporked?"

No, the official response right now is, "Hey, there are communities that focus around your playstyle on the Oceania realms. While we have no way to transfer your characters there right now, you could certainly start a new one and get a feel for the community. A more robust transfer service is coming in the future that should allow you to transfer your existing characters, but in the meantime, it might be a good idea to scope out the area and see if it's right for you."

Q u o t e:
Reaction #2: We've *been* waiting for this for months. Any hints on when we might finally see it?

When it's done. It's still being worked on. Believe me, I want to see it just as much as you do.

Q u o t e:
Reaction #3: Oceania realms are already overcrowded -- this doesn't seem like a Good Idea.

Hence my comment about looking into more realms for the timezone set.

Q u o t e:
Reaction #4: Why should we be forced to eventually transfer at all when a decent LFG interface and/or some actual non-raid endgame content would likely solve the problem quicker and more thoroughly?

No one ever said we weren't working on a more robust LFG system. In fact, we've stated that we are on more than one occasion, and no, I'm not talking about meeting stones.

Cuchulainn, those are the answers I have now. Are they optimal? No. Do you know what I'd give to be able to say, "Hey, you can transfer right now!" or perhaps, "Here's an in-depth look on the new LFG system we're implementing tomorrow!"

I can't say those things, however.

So I give the answers I have available based on the reality of the situation.
