Subject: Serriously blue what the?
Why are there bug fixes for other classes in each patch but shaman bugs never get fixed. the windfury animation has never worked right, frost shock was broken ages ago and has never been fixed, two-handed axe/mace still reset the skill every time we respec, grounding totem is supposed to absorb spells not get destroyed by them, etc. i have mentioned these bugs in the currently researching thread on the test server forum and all i get is a response that the thread is for current bugs on the test server from the current patch and the post gets deleted and not even mentioned in currently researching. these bugs aren't even listed in known issues thread. seriously, are you just ignoring these bugs and hoping they go away? you certainly fixed the criting lightning shield really freakin quick. :(

Each bug discovered in the game, once known and verified becomes flagged as a bug in our internal database, at which point it sits in a priority queue awaiting the attention from the designer, programmer, or artist responsible for making the particular adjustment for the bug in question. Each bug is classified based on the level of impact it has on our game. For example, game-breaking or high-impact bugs are fixed as quickly as possible, often times even through a minor patch or hotfix.

The Two-Handed Axe/Mace bug isn't specific to the Shaman, and unfortunately will take us time to correct since we'd need to make a major change to the system causing this bug. The bug, while annoying, is minor. We're also fully aware that the tornado graphic from a Shaman's Windfury Attack is not playing consistently, and as soon as our designers have time, we'll address the issue. This is also considered a minor issue, I'm afraid.

The other two items you mention, are in-fact not bugs. The Grounding totem will absorb a harmful spell effect every ten seconds, however, if it happens to be a harfmul damage spell, the damage effect of the spell will destroy the totem. If you'll notice, the Grounding totem will still absorb a harmful debuff every ten seconds. While we may make a design change in regards to the Shaman's Frostshock damage being negated by our diminishing returns system, as it stands the spell is functioning correctly.

I want to emphasize that while not a bug, we do intend to change the way Frost Shock works so that the damage isn't negated by our diminishing returns system. It's currently on a designer's task list, although I'm not certain when players will see this change. Also, I looked a little further and it appears that the bug affecting the Two-Handed Mace/Axe talent upon respec is being fixed for patch version 1.10. We had tried to implement the fix in time for the upcoming patch (1.9), but unfortunately weren't able to do so.

I've just spoken to the designer responsible for spells and abilities, and he's agreed to adjust the tool tip for the Shaman's Grounding Totem so that its function is very clear.

Q u o t e:
Eyonix clairified already (sort of) - that's good. But I'm going to clarify as well, since you don't seem to realize what the problem is.

The snare diminishing returns is ok. We're ok with that. But there were some patch notes a while back that stated that this was *not* supposed to make the target immune to the damage as well. Eynoix sort of made it look like they decided this was not the case. Apparently he didn't mean to do that.

Fear doesn't do any damage, so its diminishing returns aren't affected the same way.

As I explained in that thread, before patch 1.5, activating Blessing of Freedom or using a Free Action Potion would make you immune to the damage caused by Frost Shock and fortunately, patch 1.5 fixed that. This is what the patch note described. However, the diminishing returns system still makes you immune to the entire spell after it's used three times, and is working properly.

Needless to say, we will be changing this system so that the damage portion of the spell isn't negated by the diminishing returns rule. I don't have a time frame to provide you concerning when this design change will be implemented, unfortunately.
