Good afternoon,
I recently read a few posts in a long thread trying to defend cliff walking. Now I've enjoyed Cliff Walking myself hanging with Troll, Dwarves, jumping off the gates of IF, jumping from the roof of Org, etc. However, I totally see the need to remove it and I'm not here to defend it. I have an concern however, the one thing that always seemed to justify cliff walking to me was Wailing Caverns and I feel that something may need to be done in light of this change.
For those Alliance members who have never done Wailing Caverns, almost all of the quest givers for this instance are located above the entrance to this dungeon. Now I started my first Horde toon (this one) about 6 months after release and when I became "of level" I asked my veteran Horde friends where all the quests for WC are? I found someone who was willing to show me where they were, he brought me up a walkable section of the mountain above WC and proceeded to cliff walk over above the dungeon entrance to where the quest NPC are. Being a little dumb founded I ask him something along the lines of, "Are you seriously telling me the only way to get to these quest NPCs is to make use of a glitch?" and he responded… only way I know. I spent the next 10 minutes or so walking around the base of the cave trying to find an alternative route and found NOTHING.
Now Blizzard, I realize that an option still exists to get to obtain these quests. This option is to walk to the other side of the mountain walk up to the top of it, and drop down onto the cave, but to be quite honest… this seems more ludicrous than the cliff walking method. As I said earlier I understand the need to remove cliff walking from the game, but I have beg… could you stick a stair case to those NPCs?
I don't think that's too much to ask.
Thanks for your time.

I have levelled a dozen Horde characters through Wailing Caverns and have never once had an issue with climbing atop the mountain and dropping down. It's supposed to be a difficult but accessible area, and that's precisely what it is.

You can't please everyone all the time.
The entire cliff-walking debate centers around exploring.
Well, the cave is a place that you can get to if you enjoy exploring -- I found it by accident when I was playing in beta, before I was hired. This is one of those bits that's fun the first time for the explorer types.
Said explorer types don't want cliff-walking to go.
This post is asking for even more exploration to be taken out of the game.
I'm sorry if you personally find it annoying, Peekayeduu, but no, that was not the word I sought. There are no plans to make this easier to access; it doesn't take long, honestly. You don't need to go all the way around the mountain, just climb up on a slope to the west. Naturally if you just go charging off the ledge once you get there, odds are you won't make it, but there is a point where you can hit it every single time.
This is far less out of the way than most Quest NPCs for an instance, in all honesty. It takes me longer to hit the Gnome that gives a quest for Deadmines than it does to hit those NPCs.
