Subject: JUDGEMENT Concept - YUCK! (Pardon ME)
For the love of God and all that is holy and sacred, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me that Paladins are not about to get an overhaul on their precious armor only to end up looking like a retarded Transformer!!!??!?!?

I understand that there are some kiddie fans out there that might think this new improved and obviously asian inspired armor is nifty neeto and keen, but for heavens sake...It is just rediculous!

Paladins are a NOBLE HOLY ORDER, not some freaked out version of a cartoon! Come on Dev's, do a little research on armor and give us something that really lends to the whole IDEAL of a Paladin...not some red/black/gold thing...

And it DOES NOT MATTER...IT IS RETARDED LOOKING

Do we get to change into a race car or a semi truck?

The Judgement concept is meant to be an Inquisitor-like outfit. The Silver Hand is an overall noble establishment, to be sure -- but there is a time when pleasantries must end and justice must be done. It is called the Judgement armor for a reason -- it is the Paladin's embodiment of delivering their sentence upon the enemy. This is not the defender aspect of the Paladin you're seeing; it is the commanding, faceless aspect of justice, of judgement.

There is more to a Paladin than shining armor.

EDIT: To Llochlear -- the World of Warcraft's designs have always been based in fantasy. Such concepts stem back to Warcraft 1. It has been a constant, conscious choice in the way we create our world. I understand if your tastes tend more toward the realistic side of things, but that is, by and large, rather against the grain of the Warcraft style. ;)

Q u o t e:
The OP is right, the armor looks stupid.

I think the whole thing doesn't look so horrible as the helm. The Helm is horrible. Anything that completely covers the face like that (think Dreadmist) is terrible IMHO. Why bother having character models under there if you're just going to completely cover them up?

I think a Paladin's armor can be flashy (and I don't vote for the realism school either, but come on).

But there's a difference between "fantasy" and "impossible." Bizzarre things sticking off your head for no reason (think Dreadmist, Arcanist) just looks dumb. What's the point of it?

Worse, you know that when it actually gets implemented, it will look boxy and stupid. No way will it *actually* look like that on anyone.

They wear PLATE armor, not robes. If they want to wear robes and hoods, tell them to roll a priest.

Actually, it looks almost precisely like that concept in game. I've seen it. Very spiffy. :)

I've said this on another thread and I don't know if anyone else before me on this one has said it, but isn't an Ankh of Reincarnation being right there on the chest below the head kind of insulting towards paladins?

As a whole, though, I do like how the armor looks.. Especially when you compare it to Lawbringer, the banana armor of doom.

How is it insulting, precisely? Do link me to the symbols of the Light -- that being the power Paladins and certain Priests pray to -- in the game currently. ;)
