I read these forums every night from work being that my job is boring and I have lots of spare time on the graveyard shift and every night I read a thread or two about how Horde is more mature and is angry about Blood Elves being introduced because it will attract the "children" from the Alliance side.
I have to call BS on that because I think they are already here.
I have 7 total characters between 3 servers, 4 horde and 3 alliance and I have to say that in my experience Horde players are far more mean, spiteful and generally elitist than the typical alliance player.
I have been yelled at, called names and generally talked down to on every one of my Horde toons for the most foolish reasons, asking where a certain NPC or mob is located has gotten the following responses in the last 24 hours, "STFU and learn to read your quest log", "STFU", "Learn to play", "Why are you playing if you can't figure it out", "No one talk to the newb".
Those sure seem like mature responses.
Not to mention the pure bile and foul language that is Barrens channel 1.
I have stood around in Thunder Bluff and Orgimnar(sp?) trying to get groups or help for hours on end without anything besides mockery and scorn.
By comparison by the time I was level 10 with my -gasp- NE Hunter I was guilded, had people asking if I needed help with anything without my ever asking and people just running up to me and giving me gear.
I have never found a zone where the general chat is so hostile as the Barrens, besides Iron Forge when lag is bad and moods are foul, or ever been told to "STFU newb" or anything of the like.
I love playing Horde. I like the story and the lore. I like the races, Tauren FTW, but I don't like the fact that there -seems- to be some sort of "old boys club" mentality involved in playing on the Horde side and I am really hoping someone can explain why this mind set exists.
