I understand that Death Coil is not subject to diminishing returns, and that no matter what it's supposed to last 3 seconds or whatever. However, I also noticed that Death Coil is not removable with the Alliance/Horde Insignia, NOR does it cause diminishing returns on the regular Fear spell if it is cast before-hand (Death Coil with Fear chained on it will last the full duration). I can only assume this means that it technically isn't a fear-type spell at all. But if it isn't a fear spell, what category does it fall under, and is all of this intended?

While I don't think there is an official category, the tool tip describes it as filling the target with terror, not fear. Or was it horror? I forget.
But, yes it is supposed to work that way.
