Well, I hit rank 14 next week, and I'll have to bump myself back down to rank 12 so the next of guild can hit 14. Obviously I'll be using DKs to do this, but I do have a quick concern that hopefully someone (Blue?) can answer.
Q) If I derank through DKs, will I still be able to purchase the rank 14 gear?
Q) If additional rank 14 stuff is added later, will that still be avialable to me?
Q) When they hopefully eliminate the DK system, how will this effect me?
Q) Is there any difference in deranking by DKs vs deranking by lower CP rankings?[ post edited by Redriot ]

You must purchase rank gear at the rank you currently have. So, no. Buy it now if you want to use it later.

Again, you can only purchase equipment for your current rank or lower, yet you may use the gear you have even if you no longer have that rank.

DKs will go on your permanent record and will likely be a quicker process for de-ranking. I guess your comfort level may be the determining factor. I'm not sure if or how DKs are factored in to honor ranking, so do so at your own risk.
