Subject: Mystery NPC language spoken by both factions?
Since we're asking such heavy questions today, here's mine:

How is it that when an NPC, such as a goblin in STV, speaks to a player (text), the opposite faction can understand it? When I'm standing at the STV inn and an orc turns in a quest, shouldn't the NPC be speaking to him in a language I can't understand?

What is this mystery language understood by both factions, but spoken by neither?

The mind wobbles....
Here mana mana mana mana mana....

Goblins are in it for the money, so they found it in their best interest to become fluent in both Common and Orcish. After all, it is a lot more difficult to complete a transaction if you are unable to understand what the buyer is saying, and vice versa.
