Often times "simple" questions are not in fact simple at all. They require lengthy conversations with development, and even then, the answer may not be one we can pass along to you. We read the forums and we answer what we can, but we are not obligated to answer every single question posed. Our job is to give the developers community feedback and give you information when it is available; that we do.

Q u o t e: Cay, can you give some examples of reasons that you would be prevented from providing feedback?
I can only think of one, to prevent spoilers.
PR is certainly one reason -- sometimes there's information we can't reveal just yet due to what's coming.
Often times, though, it's a matter of developers still working through the particular feature at hand and not having specific information to give us, either. Not all questions we pose are answered with concise information, and thus much we receive doesn't necessarily apply to the questions asked on the forum, if you follow me.

Q u o t e: It's hard to be sympathetic to the job of the CM's around here about not being able to reveal any information to us when they give the impression of refusing to even acknowledge that they read our post. A simple "I read this post" would be fantastic. As it is, we feel entirely ignored, to the point of wondering if Blizzard devs would even be aware that players are unhappy about the changes since they obviously aren't reading our posts.
I'm certain an "I read this post" would be nice for you initially.
However, the second we start such a practice, everyone else would be bumping and spamming -- moreso than they do now -- to receive that acknowledgement, and if they did not, bedlam would ensue. In order to keep the peace, we would literally have to spend our 8-hour day posting nothing but "I read this" on each and every post to assauge the posters... leaving absolutely no time to pursue the questions or do what is, fundamentally, our job. You may be dissatisfied with the amount of information you receive now, but that would drop to zero should such a system be in place.
Many people have suggested a "Blue read this" tag on threads whenever we read a post, but the same problems occur there -- moreso, since the trolls that come out of the woodwork would be able to tell precisely when we weren't looking at the forums -- due to meetings or what-have-you -- and would have a field day.

Q u o t e: How about creating a new color for the radio button, maybe pink :), that shows its been read by a blue?
I covered that in the very post you quoted. :P
