I suppose it wouldn't hurt to toss a few facts into this thread...

1. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a single person on the WoW dev team (designers, programmers, artists, producers) that was at any point in their lives a developer on EQ (including me).

2. I am not "Furor" ("Furor" is one of our quest designers, and a very good one at that). Although there are several people on our dev team that played EQ at the raid level, I don't happen to be one of them.

3. The majority of the WoW dev team remains intact, as is the case with the studio's leadership and primary visionaries.

4. The WoW endgame is different in many respects from the 1-59 game. Primarily, this is because an "endgame" is different by its very nature (since by definition there's no content after the endgame), not because of an invasion of developers from other studios.

Q u o t e:
There SHOULD be content, and the term "endgame" should be scrapped. There should be a continuous flow of NEW content that scales in level, thus causing the game to never truly "end".

I encourage you to make a game that does exactly that, and when you've discovered how to generate content more quickly than players play it, I'll be ready to become your apprentice. =]
