Subject: Eyonix: Bane Already Affects Immolate?
   Thanks for this post

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-general&T=4988940&P=1

Although the nerf to Ruin worries me significantly.

You mentioned that you will be changing the Talent Bane to affect Immolate.

Well, it already does:

Does this mean that it will affect Immolate more?

Kinda confusing, could you pls clarify.

The change to Bane adds Soul Fire and Hellfire to the already-affected Shadow Bolt and Immolate. Sorry for the confusion.

Calm down, folks, I'm just relating what was told to me by the developers.

A quick check in an internal build lists Shadow Bolt, Immolate, and Soul Fire, but it may not be the latest. I'll bring it up tomorrow. For now, please, let's be respectful, hm? :)

Guys, I'm sorry if that portion of my message caused confusion. Currently, the Destruction talent Bane affects the casting time of Shadow Bolt and Immolate by half a second. When the patch releases, Soul Fire will also be affected.

To my knowledge, Hellfire will remain unaffected by this change.

Q u o t e:
I think Eyonix simply said it wrong in his post. I believe he just meant to add that Soul Fire will now be included under Bane in addition to Immolate and Shadowbolt.

This is true, my messaging was just not very clear and to be honest I believe my follow-up adequately explained the situation. Unfortunately when being viewed under the scrutiny of a microscope, the fact of the matter is less important than whatever "grand conspiracy" my mistake must have just revealed.

It appears the conspiracy of the moment is that my Warlock isn't high enough in level to learn a tier 2 talent.

There's a lot more than that. How about when one of the CMs actually said there are no and never were class representatives? That one was a while ago. Made me wonder where our comments were really going.

Look, it's kind of a pain when we have to go to realm forums of all things (Uther) to find out the status of information about warlock changes being thought of. We still don't know what the 'shard bag' is gonna do besides hold shards but it looks like it's been decided upon and it's coming.

And Cay... Really... Telling us to calm down when we just want accurate information that you made a mistake in relaying to us after getting nothing on our forums for 3 months is akin to telling a starving lion to stop eatting your head. It's just not gonna happen. Forgive us for being a bit touchy after it looked like we were being ignored for so long.

There aren't class representatives, Skulgar and such has actually been stated on more than just one occasion, although I'm not certain I follow the specific relevance of why you would bring up such a point.

As far your second comment is concerned, what information did I provide on the Uther realm forum that made you feel it was a central location for class status updates? All that I did was link the Warlock post made from this forum.

Are you also aware that the Warlock update was stickied in your class forum? The same location I've put all information pertaining to the Warlock class.

It sounds to me as though you're simply trying to find reasons to become upset. I can assure you that I'm doing everything I can to provide everyone with information. I don't usually have the final say in what and when information can be released. I can only push the community needs and ensure all of your thoughts are taken into consideration.

Please, at least make the smallest attempt to work with me.

The Shard Bag is pending programmer time, which is divided amongst many tasks and projects. The designers are pushing for its production, however. All that I do know at this point in time has been stated before - the bag will be able to hold more Soul Shards than the normal bags which are available, easing the burden of shard management.

If the Soul Shard bag ends up offering additional benefits, or provides additional functionality (we've heard many of your ideas), I'll let you know the moment I'm able. At this time, I've only had confirmation on the what's been stated in my first paragraph.
