There is a +10 Skinning sword in ZG that well frankly was made for one class and 1 class only: Paladins.
Anyone can use the sword but you can not use in conjunction with Finkle's because they are assigned to the same slot.
There may still be a way to get to +10 Skinning without either of them a super rare creation from Wild Leather.
IMO if I go on UBRS raid and I have +10 skinning from enchant and wild leather and no one else can skin I am skinning and what I skin I keep.
IMO if you have the ZG Sword or Finkle's pre raid and you skin hide it should be yours.
IMO the only time the hide should be open to all can roll [NOT EVER] or the more practical all can roll who link the mission reward proving they have mission is when the skinner get the Finkle's on the UBRS run. The other thing that is acceptable is if the raid leader says it will be open roll but don't be surprised if skinners drop from raid leaving you with none.
To add there are new ZG drops and recipes that adds profession bonuses. So in theory you could either get much higher skinning or higher in LW for some purpose. Maybe they will be adding in L301+ LW and Tailoring recipes in the future.
So finally we will see an end to stupid paladins getting mad about Finkle's. Why a Paladin would take skinning other than being greed based profession set of just gathering I do not know. The whining paid off and they have added a sword.

My personal stance on this, is that anyone in the party who needs the Pristine Hide should be able to roll on it. The Pristine Hide is no different from any other Rare or Epic item that drops in value, the only difference is how it is obtained.

Or, balance it out so other gather skills have similar epic quest item links, so that skinners don't flip out when they feel their ability to skin entitles them dibs on a critter they could not have killed on their own?
I just don't get the logic of the drop. A happy looting experience this does not make.
