Subject: Confession ;)
The fake patch notes were really a wishlist of what I would like to see in the game, and what I've gotten from browsing the forums - except compiling them in patch note format and dropping them on the forum on Labor Day gave them a ton more exposure :)

My main's a Night Elf Druid (as several people cleverly guessed =P), and the only thing I can really take credit for are some of the Druid changes and the Gizmo Gauntlet (battle chickens fascinate me). I got the other class "fixes" and new "features" from other players' ideas on the forum and blue posts. As for the bug fixes, pretty much all of them came from copy/pasting stuff in the Bug Report forum..lol

Oh, and I think i should apologize for giving a couple of shamans and priests heart attacks in the last 12 hours... I threw the totem nerf in for fun and i left priests out to make it seem more real.

Btw, I'm not the spybot alt who leaked changes before, so if he ever leaks a real set of patch notes again, dont hate on him ;)

Guess I had my 15 minutes of fame, cya later!

Tch. While I give you marks for several seemingly credible changes, you get an equal number of demerits for the grey hairs that "leaked" patch notes cause me. :P

Q u o t e:
Confession not needed.

The fact that they were a wishlist was OBVIOUS. I thought the post was well put together. Of course, you had to actually READ THE DAMN THING to know that.

The fact that a) n00bs replied with "go away loser" and "wow those are fake!" so immediately and b) the topic was actually deleted ASTOUNDS me.

For the LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE, Try actually READING THE POSTS BEFORE DRAWING CONCLUSIONS.

No, not just the title. No. not just the first word or sentence. Read the WHOLE POST. Then draw conclusions and/or post a reply.

Spybod, your post proves that 99% of all posters (including CMs sometimes) don't bother to read the OP before flaming, replying, deleting, trolling, etc.

Er?

I moderate "leaked" notes if they're marketed as such -- even if they're meant as a joke. If you want to post a wishlist, then post it in that form -- purporting that you have the inside scoop on the next patch is a quick path to being moderated.

Q u o t e:
Can't you guys see that Cay posted this? If you don't believe me go back and read other posts by Cay. They're totally in her style, notice excess smiley faces. As you will see from reading them Cay=Spybot. Therefore 1.8 Patch Notes=True

Inconsistencies are as follows:

* Used one hyphen instead of two in the first sentence (- vs. --).
* Lack of a period after "exposure".
* My main is a Tauren Druid, not a Night Elf.
* Use of =P smiley as opposed to :P
* Use of "lol" at the end of a sentence as opposed to punctuation.
* The I is not capitalized in "i should apologize".
* I capitalize class names more often than not.
* Use of "Btw" without all caps denoting an acronym.
* Lack of period after "him".
* Use of "cya".

Conclusion: not me, sorry. :P

I can see account information on the forums, and I'm not the only one with that ability. I assure you, I'd have the wrath of the company over me in no time flat.

If Cay isn't the OP why does she keep deleting the topics about it? Normally it would just be locked

No, actually, if there are multiple topics on any one issue that needs to be consolidated -- such as server issues -- other offshoot threads are deleted, not locked.

She locked one of mine already. I know she is spybot. She just isn't clever enough. Besides all Companies deny leaked information that hasn't been officially announced.

I assure you, if I'd leaked notes on this forum with one of my own accounts, I wouldn't be here to defend myself. :P

If you still require proof, I'm afraid you're going to have to wait for a while until the true 1.8 patch notes are released, but that should prove to you that these are, in fact, false.

Cay, if I'm not mistaken there is coffee all over your keyboard...Everyone in Blizzard has stopped working in your office and you are all finding this whole thing rather humourous.

I wonder what the next level of the conspiracy is.

Cay I put this to you...

That your inconsistencies were already cleverly thought out when you posted the leaked notes on Spybot. You subtlely included editing slightly different to your own and had pre-empted this response from the community, hense your very quick identification of the differences listed above.

Hmmmmmm

I'm able to quite quickly denote what's different about my style because I know my own writing. :P
