Subject: curious as to how this works...
not meaning this in a rude way or anything, i just dont quite understand it

how is it that the EU site, along with the asian sites, get to post new information on the game before the US site does? i mean... its made here right? Caydiem literally works in the same building as the programmers? would it not make sense?

thanks for any sort of reply.

They're intentional exclusives. I wrote the majority of the Korean exclusive -- they tend to be written in this office regardless. As you folks tend to get a lot of information first, we give 'em exclusive previews to let them know we consider them an important part of the community as a whole. :)

Q u o t e:
Why don't you just give the info to all the users, no matter where they are based, at the same time? /boggle

With big things it is possible, but with individual forum posts? Not so much, due to time zones and all that.

Because you folks do get a decent amount of information on these forums first, there is the perception of being constantly second among the international communities. If we released these previews at the same time, that feeling would still persist due to the fact that you folks have an edge on them. Thus we give exclusives to help support their communities.

Q u o t e:
You speak Korean, or did someone translate?

If you do, that's cool.

I don't; it was translated. Tyren does, though. ;)

.....

why not release all the info at the same time to them too......

When I post on the forums, it's often the wee hours of the morning in an international region. We do not have 24-hour community manager shifts -- we're here when the majority of our local community happens to be, which is simply good sense. As such, we can't. :P Even if one of us could post in all regions at the same time, it would need to be translated, and I do not speak French, German, Chinese and Korean as well as English. ;)

Q u o t e:
So let me get this straight..

You delay info to them (instead of posting it here, it gets translated then posted there at a presumably later date) and delay it even further to us to make someone feel better over a timezone difference? Nice.

For the record I am not bothered by this, I just find this "logic" amusing.

Incorrect.

We do post the little bits of information here first, as opposed to waiting. If you read through the thread, you'd note that I said we give the international teams the exclusives to help make up for the edge you folks have on the forums.
