I've had these questions for awhile, and asked them before but got no response, and since I saw that Caydiem and crew were active at the moment I figured i'de ask.
1) What are Lucifron, Executus, and their ilk? It was never really explained who they are or where they came from (I assume the center of the Earth). They look like lava naga or something... crazy.
2) Where did the lesser dragonkin come from? Prior to WC3 there was no mention of ground based humanoid-esque dragonkin. Are they dragon/humanoid hybrids?
3) I know powerful dragons can turn into human/elf type humanoids but can they turn into orcs or trolls and such?

Lucifron and his kin are Salamanders, I believe.
I am not sure of the origin of the Dragonkin off the top of my head... but regarding the shifting abilities of the Dragons, I imagine they choose whatever form pleases them. There are more hidden ones than the humans and elves. ;)

Think more the fiery salamanders of myth, as seen by the following dictionary definition:
"A mythical creature, generally resembling a lizard, believed capable of living in or withstanding fire."
