We're still in the process of bringing them back up. They should be available soon, with the exception of those down for the full 24 hours.

I do apologize, but we were afflicted with the same problem you faced on the forums -- I was unable to log in until just recently. We did update the server alert message accordingly.

As any denizen of the realms undergoing extended maintenance can tell you, there have been a variety of issues occurring of late that have not been corrected by restarts and such. We are not foisting this extended downtime upon you on a mere whim. There have been some significant problems on those realms, and this downtime has been scheduled to hopefully alleviate those issues.
Scheduling a 24-hour downtime is not something we do frivolously. It is for absolutely necessary hardware maintenance.

We have not used the main page for such alerts for quite some time. The information is primarily given through the Server Alert message upon login, which we did update. I am sorry if you feel this is not sufficient, but we did supply information to you.

As of 5:30pm EST there are ZERO posts on the realm status forum page about the current server FUBAR escapade.
My realm (boulderfist) went down after being up for ~40 minutes. The message we recieved in game was that it was being restarted because of issues w/ the instanced areas.
Caydiem, have you been taking notes on public relations from Scott Mclellan?
I do believe I did not once mention the Realm Status forum. I pointed specifically to the Server Alert message. You do need to restart your client in order to see an update, but we have been keeping it up to date. I fail to see how I am "lying".
