Palehoof is correct about the ability to transfer game media, which is governed by the EULA. However, the EULA only covers components within the box (as defined in his quote).
Accounts are technically the property of Blizzard, and are governed separately by the Terms of Use:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html
Section 1E states: "Blizzard Entertainment does not recognize the transfer of Accounts, and any authorized transfer of the World of Warcraft software (as set forth on the worldofwarcraft.com website) will result in the permanent deletion of the Account attached to that software. You may not offer any Account for sale or trade, and any such offer is a violation of this Agreement and may result in suspension or termination of the Account."
As such, the transfer of account access is not permitted and most definitely not recommended. It is a very serious breach of security for users to provide their account information, password, etc to others, regardless of the situation. Your safest option is to create a new character using whatever class you're interested in, and then you can get a feel for it that way. It may take a little longer, but will avoid the pitfalls and account closures often associated with compromised accounts.
