Is this Ally only?
B/c I went to westfall as a tauren shaman and I got the chicken to look at me, but I couldn't inspect it. Nor could I talk to farmer since he was an enemy.
It also seems that all chickens will look at you quizzically... yet I still can't inspect them. /cry

Well, I don't know how valid this is, but I was playing a friendly game of cards down in Booty Bay the other week. It was a fun game of Stranglethorn Hold'em. I was losing to this rich Goblin by the name of Sneaky Pete. Anyway, he got to drinking his Thistle Tea and started talking. He said, that if a Horde member is sneaky enough, he can loot the egg of a Prairie Chicken before an Alliance is able to.
Again, this was card table talk so I don't know how reliable it is.
