Subject: Why do people bypass the rolling system?
Ok so it seems that lots of groups, will roll on anything green and BOE, but for some reason they want everyone to pass on blues and any BOP, so that they can then afterwards use /random 100 to roll for it. What exactly is the point of this? First of all once everyone passes, that give a nice window of opportunity for ANYONE who wants it, to ninja the item, which = stupid. All I can figure is that it buys you more time to discuss the item and who rolls on it, but I have never had it take more than 2 seconds to figure out who is going to roll on a SET ITEM for a specific CLASS. Please stop this inneffectual bypassing of the rolling system. Stop, it serves no purpose!

Passing on the item and discussing in detail who should receive or roll for the item insures that no mistakes are made. Sure someone could "ninja" an item but out of the hundreds of pick up groups I've done, that's only happened once. Hardly worth changing a preferable system of loot due to a less than likely predicament.

Everyone is going to have a particular preference for looting, and it's often based on what a player has experienced. In the end, you should only be in an instance if everyone is comfortable with the agreed upon loot system. I've done at least ten pick up groups for Stratholme dead side in the last week using the system (other than a few Stratholme specific rules) described by the original poster without a single incident.
