Q u o t e: We noticed something strange tonight while raiding Onyxia / Molten Core. Apprently some of the players who died in a fight and had to release could not loot Onyxia, or the various MC bosses we cleared tonight. We obviously opened a ticket, since there's been a similar bug in the past.
Surprise! Apparently, this is not a bug at all. On the contrary, the hard work you put in a fight isn't worth anything, because you DO NOT DESERVE LOOT if you die in a fight. You need to get back into the fight to get looting "privilege"

I know this has been posted in the raid & dungeons forums, but it deservers more exposure.
EDIT - CONFIRMATION:
Greetings ,
Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.
The Previous response is mostly correct. If you die before the mob or boss dies, and release then you will not be able to loot. However if you do not release, you should be able to roll on and see items, provided that you are close enough. If you feel that the functionality should be different, then please visit the Suggestion Forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/b...wow-suggestions) and post a suggestion.
We apologize for this happening and unfortuately we are not able to restore the items that you could not see in the past. Thank you for your understanding. And thank you for playing in the World of Warcraft.
Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!
For any game play questions, please refer to our site at http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/
*** Please do not respond to this email as all conversations on this matter would be best handled online. ***

And for clarification purposes, this is now happening with FFA loot, which wasn't the case before.
New topic started as the old one already broke. From page 36+ No one can see the posts. Please don't let this issue die.

Q u o t e: Hey Cyadiem, how about you also get them to investigate the disappearance of Hunter Epic quest items. There's a large thread on our forum that's been there for days with no response.
I suggest you check it -- I posted in there before you posted this. ;)
