I play as a level 60 Hunter. In late November, at level 10, I trained a striped nightsaber as my pet. He has remained my pet the entire time I've played. Tuesday I logged in to find that he's gone. Blizzard has taken him from me. No warning, no explanation...he's just gone. In his place is some spotted cat I don't know.
Game developers create worlds in which they long for us to play, enjoy, and become immersed. With WoW they accomplished that nicely. The immersion is there. So much so, in fact, that when something like this happens, it's painful.
Blizzard, please, 1) return our best friends to us, and 2) never do something like this again. Games, amazing, immersive games, should be fun, not painful.[ post edited by Colar ]

This was a change made by the world team who, unfortunately, did not realize what an impact a "simple" texture change would have on Hunters who chose those cats for that precise look. I've passed along your feedback and concern to the team.

I wasn't being sarcastic, actually. My hunter has a pet that has a rather unique look, and I am used to it. If that was changed on me without my knowledge, I would be understandably upset, and thus I completely understand how this affects the Hunters who have that particular cat.
I've expressed the issue to the team and will continue to do so.

Fire them, fire them quickly.
They changed the texture of a type of cat that spawns in the world, actually. The unfortunate side-effect is that the pets were changed as well.
