What good is the server status page if it doesn't accurately reflect the status of the servers? Lothar is down right now but the page says it's up. The server status page should report the state (up/down) of all realms in _real time_.

Lothar isn't down, in fact -- there are players on it. We're aware that it's less than informative at times, however, and we're looking into ways to improve it. :)

Look, folks, the status page reflects whether the computers on which the realms operate are up and running. I understand that you'd like more functionality there, but please understand that specific information -- such as loot lag, etc, that might be occurring -- does not have one specific cause and thus cannot be monitored on such a page in a simple way. I am not trying to be sarcastic or lie to you, here -- all I'm saying is that the realm status page probably will not give you overly specific information regarding realm performance that some of you seem to be looking for.[ post edited by Caydiem ]

Again, folks, they're looking into the issue. I didn't say we're ignoring it. And we are improving the Realm Status page to more accurately reflect when a realm is or is not operational.

I apologize if you felt I was attempting to be "cute" -- that was not the case.
The fact of the matter is that the realms currently indicate that they're up if either of the continents is available. I am aware this is not entirely intuitive and I was attempting to explain (though I admit I was attempting to be light-hearted -- perhaps a poor judgement on my part) that fact.
