I love the WoW opening cinematic especially the first part.
"Ten Years Of Warcraft"
And I have been playing it about that long. So here is my nitpick with WoW terminology. And please forgive me I am away from home tonight so WoW forums are all I got.
The term 'mob' is currently being used to describe NPC enemies. This term is heavily steeped in EverQuest land. I propose that people abandon the term 'mob' and begin to assert the much more storied Warcraft term 'creep' to describe a roaming NPC enemy. And/or 'creeping' as a synonym for grinding.

I call them creeps or monsters myself.

I call monsters "flanges" and grinding "spelunking".
It never really caught on.

Q u o t e: Since we are debating the origin of terms I make the following speculations:
"flanges" origin is a guitar effect most famously used in the Doobie Brother hit "Listen to the Music" Obviously you know nothing about MMORPG's OR classic rock.
"spelunking" you stole that from Lode Runner on your Turbographix-16.
Both observations somewhat date me. Doesnt change the fact that you are a plagurist! ;)
Both speculations are incorrect. ;)
Main Entry: 1flange
Pronunciation: 'flanj
Function: noun
Etymology: perhaps alteration of flanch (a curving charge on a heraldic shield)
1 : a rib or rim for strength, for guiding, or for attachment to another object <a flange on a pipe> <a flange on a wheel>
2 : a projecting edge of cloth used for decoration on clothing <a jacket with flange shoulders>
Also, I have friends who enjoy exploring caves. A plagiarist I am not, sir. I was simply being random. ;)
