Subject: Why lock it? Just delete it.
   Hello Community Team,

First off, I would like to make it very clear, I DO NOT envy your job. Its the digital equivalent to being a smell tester for Right Gaurd. Your a bigger man/woman than I for dealing with a community like this.

I must say that this is the worst MMO community I have ever seen, period. I love the game, but dealing with the community (both in-game and on these boards) is like being forced to relive 2nd Grade. There are few exceptions.

I appreciate the community team making an effort to regain a bit of control over these forums and what is posted here, but why lock the thread? Why not just delete it? Don't you think the time for dealing with these issues with a Ms. Doubtfire attitude is over?

Deleting it would allow some of the more well thought out and relivant threads not to slip down the pages of the forum so quickly.

Jim Rome said it best: "Have a take. Dont suck." Should be the rule here as well.

The reason why we lock the thread is twofold:

1) The individual who violates policy is informed of where their thread has gone, as it's still in their posting history. It also informs them of what they've done. We do not have a private message function on this board, and I do not believe the majority of our posters are checking their eMail at the time they post, so any warning sent through that medium would go unheeded in general. This also prevents a great deal of reposts and threads with the subject of "Where did my post go?!"

2) It informs the community at large about what is and is not acceptable in terms of the policy. If threads simply disappeared, we would see many more repeat threads than we do already.
