Could a WoW rep please take a moment to explain to me how the forum logins work. Tonight during the extended downtime I was unable to login to the forums getting the standard:
Login Server Down
I tried logging into a different WoW game server where I have some low level chars and then relogging on the boards with no luck. A few minutes ago I was finally able to log back into the forums but my regular play server (Icecrown) is still down.
Folks have said that when your game server is down then you can't log into the forums and visa versa but I have found this not to be the case. Many times my game server will be up and I get "Login Server Down" on the forums or, like now, I can login to the forums fine but my game server is down.
Could you let me know how this actually works please? It's very frustrating to have my game server be down and I can't even post on the boards during the downtime and I'd like to figure out how some of the other folks are able to work around the problems.

The forum login issue that occurred earlier this week should no longer happen. We have discovered the root cause of the problem and repaired it.
There will be an issue with selecting certain characters during peak time (which I will post on more extensively here in a bit) but the login server itself should remain up.

That's the perfect opportunity for you to GET approval. I mean, you can give us the "I don't have approval" excuse, after all, we don't want you to lose your job, but since there's no REASON for you to not have approval, you could go to your bosses and explain to them that there's no reason for you not to have approval, and then they would (being intelligent people) agree and give you approval, and then you could tell us.
I just get the feeling that you giuys give up way too easilly. Be more like England, less like France.
At 9:30PM on a Friday? ;) I understand the desire to have more information on this, I do, but I'm limited on what I can and cannot say when it comes to technical issues. I do try. :)
