Subject: 24 Hour Game Time Extension
Over the past weekend, the realms listed below experienced extended downtimes due to unforeseen hardware configuration issues in light of recent population increases. We understand that such downtimes are not acceptable to our inconvenienced players, and we assure you that such service interruptions are not acceptable to us either. In light of the downtime, we will be providing a free 24-hour extension of play time. This will show up as free extra time on your current billing period (or on your trial period, for those of you who purchased the game recently).

We understand the frustration that results from service interruptions of this magnitude, and we believe, just as you do, that they are absolutely unacceptable. We sincerely apologize for the downtime that players on these realms experienced. Blizzard has a responsibility to provide as stable a service as possible for its World of Warcraft customers, and we ask for your indulgence as we continue to improve our service for you.

In the past several weeks, we have taken many steps to address key issues in our goal to improve the quality of the World of Warcraft service. Many aspects of the game, both client-side and server-side, have been enhanced to ensure that our players experience the best gameplay conditions possible. Some recent changes include improvements to the auction house system, boats, and zeppelins, and performance increases in high-population areas.

At the same time, thanks to the popularity of World of Warcraft, the number of players online at a given time has increased tremendously. The growth in overall player population has presented us with new challenges, and we are working to find ways to better support our customers, such as the current development of a transfer method to move characters from high-population realms to low-population realms.

We appreciate your ongoing patience; and we will continue to work proactively to ensure the highest standard of gameplay that we and our customers have come to expect from Blizzard.
