Many of you have suffered from high latency problems and disconnects recently, and we have been working diligently on resolving this issue ever since these problems was first reported.
Today we have been monitoring the current latency situation since it began on several of our realms at approximately 17:30 CEST
At this time we believe the issue to be at or upstream from our peer switches and we are working together with our ISP to resolve this issue. Symptoms of the current issue will include but are not limited to extremely high latency and disconnects.
We will keep you updated on this matter, and we expect to have a new update available for you in an hours time, even if that update is "no progress"

Q u o t e: You are miss informed, latency situation is there since 1 week, for example all Major guilds in aggramar are not able to run in 40 man instances since 1 week because of this, so don't try to tell us that is since a couple of hours and you started to work on it so soon.
K.
I am very much aware that these problems have been there for some time now and contrary to popular belief, I can assure that this issue has never been ignored.
We have been working hard to correct these issues ever since they appeared, but unfortunately it has been a long process in tracking down the problems.
During today's monitoring of the issue we believe that we located the nature of the problem, hence the wording in the original post of this thread.

Q u o t e: So basically you're saying that Blizzard actually KNEW there were major problems but they never bothered to INFORM their customers about it? Are you really saying Blizzard can't be bothered to leave a note which confirms the problems and rather leaves people in the dark with crap connections? Dear lord. That, my friend, is what I call "rude".
We have actually been posting on regular intervals on this issue, but I can agree with you that it could have been nicer with more information being posted more often. This is the previous thread we posted about this issue, which is also a sticky thread:

Please re-read my earlier posts in this thread. Nowhere has it been said that we started investigating today!

A little more detailed information has become available regarding the latency and disconnection issues being experienced by players on the following realms:
Agamaggan
Aggramar
Al'Akir
Arathor
Argent Dawn
Aszune
Azjol-Nerub
Bladefist
Bloodhoof
Bloodscalp
Burning Blade
Burning Legion
Crushridge
Daggerspine
Deathwing
Doomhammer
Draenor
Dragonblight
Dragonmaw
Dunemaul
Emerald Dream
Sunstrider
Twilight's Hammer
Warsong
Zenedar
The issue impacting players is disrupting proper TCP communications between players and their realms, which has resulted in high latency and disconnections as you are well aware.
Our ISP Telia is currently troubleshooting a problem with high CPU utilization on some of their routers connecting to Blizzard's network segment, which hosts the realms listed earlier.
At this time we have not received an ETA for a possible resolution, but we will continue to provide as much detailed information as possible when it becomes available

Q u o t e: Well, the problem still persists on Thunderhorn. Any news on Thunderhorn? As I just this very moment got disconnected, logged back in for 9242ms ping. Third time today. And I'm not the only one on my server.
Please note that if you are experiencing latency and disconnection problems, and the realm you are playing on is not mentioned on the list in the original post of this thread, then your problem is of a different nature and we would therefore like you to report this in new thread.
We are investigating reports about latency and disconnections on some realms located on other World of Warcraft sites.

We have received news from Telia that they have deployed a definite solution to the problems that was causing high latency and disconnections.
Telia have replaced some hardware, which they believed to be faulty, and furthermore they have changed several software and network configurations in order to improve the data communication between players and the realms.

We have some new information available for you. Telia have done some temporary changes on their network configurations in order to solve the latency and disconnection problems. Their technical team is still monitoring their equipment and in addition we would greatly appreciate your feedback regarding theses changes.
Please provide your feedback in this thread:

We have some new information for you.
At this moment our ISP (Telia) has sent their technical staff to the physical site in order to check up on their equipment as well as to follow up on some investigations and to verify their diagnostics of the situation. Unfortunately we have no ETA regarding when this investigation will be finished, but we will get back to you as soon as new information becomes available.

updated - 17:01 CEST

We do not have a change in the status. Our ISP is still looking into the issue. As soon as we have an update from them we will keep you informed.
----------

We currently have no information updates available, since our network team is still working together with our ISP in resolving this issue. If more information becomes available during the night, we will keep you updated.

Unfortunately at this time there are no new developments to speak of. Our network team is continuing to work with our ISP on this
issue.

Original post
Many of you have suffered from high latency problems and disconnects recently, and we have been working diligently on resolving this issue ever since these problems was first reported.
Today we have been monitoring the current latency situation since it began on several of our realms at approximately 17:30 CEST
At this time we believe the issue to be at or upstream from our peer switches and we are working together with our ISP to resolve this issue. Symptoms of the current issue will include but are not limited to extremely high latency and disconnects.
We will keep you updated on this matter, and we expect to have a new update available for you in an hours time, even if that update is "no progress"[ post edited by Vaneras ]
