When you had to enter MC through the entrance in BRD
When you could 40 man any dungeon
When there was no DM
When if you you had a full tier 0 set you were super 1337
Anyone else got some?
Your average, but everyone else is Above average

Back in the day, Dwarves could be mages. One of our encounter designers still has a Dwarf Mage on his account -- perhaps the last one.
Back in the day, priests could sleep.
Back in the day, mages had invis and Chains of Ice. Polymorph didn't heal. Mages used to nuke/CC the mob/drink -- rinse and repeat.
Back in the day, you could eat and drink in combat.
Back in the day, all warriors did was Tab/Taunt. You could only use abilities like Rend, Sunder, Heroic Strike, Cleave etc. in one stance.
Back in the day, Blackrock Depths and Molten Core were one zone, roughly half the size. Ragnaros's lair was just one boss room of the then tiny BRD.
Back in the day, Upper Blackrock Spire and Blackwing Lair were one dungeon. LBRS didn't exist. All you had was the run through UBRS and then the stairs behind Rend/Nefarious led up to Nefarian's Balcony.
Back in the day, Zul'Gurub was supposed to be a level up zone like Winterspring, EP, Silithus etc... Then it became a 40 man raid zone. The players said they wanted a 20 man raid zone so we changed it.
Back in the day, The Temple of AQ used to sit in the middle of the Ruins of AQ -- they were one zone. We thought it was too big so we split them into two zones.
Back in the day, the Monastery was one wing. Herod's room was only the midway point through the dungeon. The graveyard and library did not exist.
Back in the day, we planned on having 600 quests in the game for launch. This was roughly what competing MMO's had at the time. Very early on in internal Alpha, we blew that number out of the water because the game felt "empoty" if you ever ran out of quests. There are now thousands of quests in WoW.
Back in the day, Blackrock Spire was originally planned to be a level 35 dungeon.
Back in the day, Hunters didn't have mana. They had "focus". It was a bar that would 0 out if the hunter moved. If he stood still for a long time, the bar would fill up. Sounds fun in theory. Wasn't very fun in practive. Imagine, hunters, having to stand around in combat to be effective...
Back in the day, Scholomance was just supposed to be a 1 quest micro dungeon. You know that crypt near Uther's Tomb? That's what it was supposed to be. There would be 1, maybe 2 quests pointing at it, non-elite. The level designer did such a good job with it that we decided to instance it, put it on Caer Darrow and make it a dungeon.
Back in the day, every single boss in MC was supposed to be immune to taunt. Someone missed a flag =P
Back in the day, we used to have fun reading the "how to beat Onyxia" posts. Before she had died, people speculated that you had to kill all the eggs to win or pull her into the egg pit in order to defeat her.
Back in the day, the first BIG class nerf we did was to the priest spell Mind Soothe. People threatened to quit WoW over it because "Mind Soothe is a class defining priest spell"
Ah the good old days...
