Subject: Bliz/Tig 14 Thunderfury threads in 1 place
First off I thank any CMs that take the time to read this. Including this thread, there are now 14 active threads regarding the changes to Thunderfury between the Raid+Dungeon, Rogue and Warrior forums.

Why am I making another Thunderfury thread? 2 reasons.
1. I wanted to bring all the different threads to one location and
2. A lot of people are asking for a statement or a reply to the recent changes in this weapon

I would personally prefer a fullblown statement to find out what was the line of thought behind the recent changes and hope for a dialog that would lead to some alternatives to our current situation.

But I understand this may not be possible or that if a representative from Blizzard replies, they may not have any information to give. In which case a simple "I dont know" or "No comment" would do. My hope would then be you tackle one of the devs on your way out to lunch (yes tackle, that'll get their attention) and extract a statement through annoyance or being pinned in an uncomfortable position.

Here are the current threads going around:

Thanks for consolidating the discussion into one thread. We have been reading all the constructive feedback on this topic, and the devs are aware of the issues that've been listed.

Editing my OP to pass the info along:

I wanted to pass along the information we gathered from the item team concerning Thunderfury. First off, the proc rate was lowered in patch 1.9. We also implemented a change in 1.9 that prevents proc effects from further generating additional proc effects, which happened quite a bit with Thunderfury due to its rather high proc rate. These changes were made to decrease the gap between damage dealt by Thunderfury and all other 1H weapons, as it was larger than we desired.

Thunderfury is still the best tanking weapon in the game due to the speed, overall DPS, and effect on the weapon. It also remains the best sustained DPS rogue weapon for raiding, even when considering the rogue weapons that provide higher Sinister Strike damage.

To address the complaints that Thunderfury will be "useless" in Ahn'Qiraj because it's a "nature" dungeon: There are less than a handful of mobs that the proc won't work against - please don't make bad assumptions about resist rates.

We acknowledge the fact that it isn't a great hunter weapon. We probably shouldn't have listed Hunter as an option. It's not a *bad* paladin weapon, but it's doubtful any raid will ever let paladins obtain it, since the weapon better helps warriors and rogues in their primary raid roles of tanking and dealing damage.

In closing, we currently have no plans to make different versions of Thunderfury for each class. If we decide to make more multiple class legendary weapons in the future, however, we'll keep the feedback we received on this subject in mind.

The devs are aware of the points you are bringing up about the Rogue raid DPS. However, they are happy with Thunderfury as it is right now, and I wouldn't expect any changes.
