While I have successfully killed Chromaggus in a guild-raid using the ramp, eventually a much better location was discovered which allowed for better positioning of each player in our raid. I'm quite certain that there are other suitable areas beyond just the two in which I've defeated Chromaggus, and I'd suggest experimenting with what works best for you and your guild.

Kill shot without using the ramp. What is this ramp you people speak of?
There is a ramp very close to where you discover Ebonroc and Flamegor, which some players use as a location to fight Chromaggus. While it's certainly possible, based on my experience, it's not necessarily the most ideal location.

Using line-of-sight in itself is not an exploit, Kazumaa. A line-of-sight exploit is when you stand at a location in which you can deal damage to an enemy but cannot take damage. The encounters you describe involve moving in and out of line-of-sight, allowing you to hit the enemy only while you're vulnerable to taking damage. In addition, while out of line-of-sight during these encounters, there is nothing preventing each enemy from pathing to you should aggro be lost to whomever is in control, which makes use of line-of-sight in this fashion a legitimate tactic.[ post edited by Eyonix ]

Have you guys fixed the bug with Time Lapse in 1.9? The one where you lose aggro completely?
Patch version 1.9 will include a fix for the bug which forces Time Lapse to cause hate reduction when the effect is resisted. I can attest that it's troublesome to endure, but fortunately you can fight through it should it occur.
