On the General forum, the "Casual vs Hardcore" debate has been raging for months, and every possible point has been made on the subject. Not to be daunted, however, every person with an opinion on the subject feels that their opinion warrants its own post, even if that opinion has been expressed more eloquently or concisely before. Nobody bothers to read others' opinions, and the forum is effectively spammed with the posts on the topic.

Moreover, every thread on the subject degenerates into name-calling or flaming within the first page.

I'm seeing some similarities between that situation and the cutthroat Star-Bellied Sneechery of the Druid forums and the Innervate discussion.

Q u o t e:
Then i say we need to debate something brand new to the forums...

So Corel, how do you treat the Pristine Hide of the Beast in your UBRS runs....?

I discuss the Hide and the Skinner before ever entering the instance, and do so only with people I trust, or if the Master Looter is someone I trust, of course.

Don't you? :)

Q u o t e:
Then why is it allowed to happen "in-game"?

RL: "What is your spec?"
MK Druid: "Balance w/ some Resto"
RL: LFM <raid location>

How many guilds can I NOT get into because I'm not "N-nervate"?

You know, Tokawulf, I wasn't going to respond again in this thread, but this warrants a comment.

That isn't harassment.

Raid leaders are permitted to choose anyone they want. If they don't want someone with your spec, that's their deal.

If they call you offensive names for playing that spec, though, that's a reportable offense. That's harassment. However, strangely enough, I don't see other classes harassing Druids for their spec all too often. Here, it's primarily a problem of Druids harassing Druids.

I'm a Forum Moderator, not a CM, and I'm here to enforce the rules, not change your talent spec. You may play your class the way you want to, understanding that some specs boost you in certain areas and hamper you in others, but what you may not do on my watch is harass each other about it.

Clear?
