I've read a little about this in the forums, but i haven't seen any discussion about it and the 1.8 talent changes. I understand Blizzard's stand that feral forms should be used no matter what build you choose, but I don't think that offers justification for putting useful feral abilities in the balance and restoration trees. Instead, I think this makes it easier for Balance and Resto minded druids to invest points in their respective trees by ignoring the feral talents. While this might make these respective talent builds easier to create, it also encourages a generic build, depriving these two trees of rewarding complexity. This system also makes the feral minded druid's choices so much harder. Playing with a feral druid since release, i've been somewhat frustrated in having to sacrifice talent pts. in the balance and resto trees on skills I don't particular care about to get feral skills I really want (i.e. swiftshifting or even intensity). Others have made this argument in referring to other classes with arguments like "mages will still use fire spells regardless of speccing for arcane and frost." Druids of every build will find oppurtunities to use feral forms regardless of their build.
So I ask, in 1.8 will we see concentration of feral skills in the feral tree only (thus bettering the feral build, while adding diversity to the resto and balance trees)?
I recognize that I have yet to reach lvl 60, please do not hold that against me. If you disagree with what I have just said, please respond constructively, as I would like to hear other druid player's views.

The philosophy behind the "feral" abilities in the other trees is quite simply that shapeshifting is an integral part of the Druid no matter their spec. For example, my Druid is almost full Restoration spec with a little balance, and I most certainly don't solo in caster form. Now dungeon groups and raids, yes, I'm normally in caster form, but even as a full Resto Druid I can off-tank pretty darn well with good gear.
I would not expect everything related to shifting to be confined to the Feral Combat tree in 1.8. It is too much a part of the Druid.

Q u o t e: Allow us to be the druid that we want to be not what you invision that we should be.
Er.
While I understand your sentiment, with all due respect, it's Blizzard folks who designed the class. I apologize if the direction of the class is not what you want it to be, but I assure you the designers have reasons for doing what they do.
And I'm excited about all trees at this point.

Q u o t e: I would like if at least furor was moved to the feral tree.
Yes, its very true that all druids use thier feral forms.
But feral druids are supposed to use them better than restore. Meaning, even though the restore druids will use it, they shouldent get improvements to it. These should instead be in the feral tree.
(At least, this is my vision on it. Would like a response, Cay =) )
It's supposed to be encouragement to use forms regardless, actually.
And the developers have heard the argument of these talents being spread out before -- they are, from what I've observed, still firm in their decision to keep shifting-related talents in all trees.
Note, though, that they're normally shallow in the other trees to allow a deeply feral Druid to take some of them.

Q u o t e: So far Cay , Warriors , Warlocks only have 1 talent changed . I don't know about Hunters though , but will it be that only 1 talent will change in feral? =/ It seems to little of a change =P (greedy ^^)
Er... I suggest you research the Hunter changes a wee bit more deeply. It was quite a bit more than that. :P

Q u o t e: Nice dodge. Here's the $64,000 question, though.
Does your druid have Furor or Intensity?
I have Intensity, yes.
I'll be expecting the check in a week. :)
