Subject: Update from the Front Lines
So by now, I'm sure you've looked at the patch notes and are crestfallen that once again Druids have not seen much in the ways of fixes/improvements over these past few patches...

I've just escaped from a design meeting, and I'm here to fill you in on what's coming up for the Druid class.

A comprehensive talent review -- everything, but Feral Combat in particular -- will be taking place within the next few patches that should aid Druids and give them more choices when specializing.

Also -- here's a big one, folks -- Feral Form (Cat and Bear) DPS is tasked to be reviewed. They've been researching and comparing damage between Warriors, Rogues and Druids, and they have a better idea now where Druids should fall in the grand scheme of things.... :)

I'm aware this isn't much as far as specific information goes, but I thought you'd like to know where your class stands on the design team's task list.

The frost fix is, as I've said, a tricky one to nail down and resolve entirely. It hasn't been forgotten, but there's no "Druid developer", say, who works only on Druids. Tasks are shared, and there is a WEALTH of things to work on at any given time. Higher priority bugs tend to push things like that aside.

You can believe me or not as is your wont, since I know some of you won't believe me until the changes are live in any case. I'm just passing along what I heard from the class team as they related to the entirety of the design team what's coming up over the next couple of patches, and where they are in that process.

Those bugs, Easton, while significant to Druids, are less important than, say, a bug that significantly affects EVERYONE. The developers have to take the long and wide view of the game as a whole, whereas players are -- and rightfully so -- more focused on their specific character and its limitations.

Now, why didn't I give dates? We don't give dates for practically anything. I don't want to tell you a date and have that date be wrong, because even if I lace it with all manner of "this is unconfirmed" or "barring unforseen problems", if we miss that date the forums will be ablaze.

I'm going to keep abreast of what they're doing and if I get a more solid answer on precisely WHAT patch will have these changes, I'll tell you. Until that time, I'm remaining vague because the time they'll be implemented is also vague.

So why tell you anything at all? I haven't been very active on the forum here lately, I'll admit, and I thought you might like to know that the developers have NOT forgotten about the Druid, that the biggest issues ARE being looked into, and that the changes are NOT in some nebulous conceptual state, but are in the developers hands right now, being worked and reworked into reality.

Once the time comes when I'm actually able to test the changes, I'll do what I can to give you an explanation of how the Druid feels between the current iteration of the class and the changes going in. Until that time, though, what I have is what I gave, and that's all.
