Subject: How Can I Help Friends During a Hack?
Hi, this morning I was told all my boyfriends Tier III characters get deleted off of Mugthol by his guild members (show in a screenshot) of all his characters quitting guild in a 2 minute progression. Please answer my questions.

1. While he was not in a place where he could contact Blizzard at the time; should I or his guildmates on the other hand contact a GM and tell them?

2.At the same time last week I saw a level 60 highly ranked character stripped naked and running between the bank and the mailbox.

Is their anything we can do to get help from Blizzard when the attacks occur on friends/guildmates or even a random person we see DE a huge amount of epic gear in the middle of town?

3.I am REALLY curious how/why/if this sudden deletion of characters and the sudden mass mailing of goods to a unknown account is tracked?

I am consoled by the fact that I know Blizzard will restore these lost accounts and have copies to fall back on.

BUT what I want to know most of all is how we can help catch these *ommitted* jerks who have hacked two of my friends accounts in less than 3wks?

   Good afternoon, Hazel.

Let me begin by saying that we very much appreciate the concern friends and loved ones have for those whose accounts have become compromised. These compromises can often shock the communities to which the account holder belongs. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done as a concerned player working to assist another player in retrieving his/her account. Our investigations are done primarily through various logs and do not quite necessitate "catching the offender in the act." Although this may seem distressful, we can verify most of what these thieves may do and reverse it; though, we are unable to actively police for these violations as they are occurring.

If a player feels his/her account may be compromised, the issue must be handled strictly between the account holder and Blizzard Entertainment for security purposes. The best way to go about reporting a compromised account to us is for the account holder to follow the instructions on our Account Administration page:

Further details for recovering from an account compromise can be found on our forum here:
