Subject: Unable to see system messages
This has only been a problem as of patch 1.12, but I cannot see any system messages (ie someone logging on, AFK status, party requests, duel requests, etc.). I've tried deleting my chat-cache.txt in my WTF folder as well as running WoW without any addons. Any help would be appreciated.

   Hathaway,

Take these steps:

Q u o t e:
1) Log out of World of Warcraft to your desktop, thereby exiting the game completely.
2) Navigate to the World of Warcraft folder, which is often found in the Program Files directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
3) Delete the WTF, WDB, and Interface folders. Then remove them from the recycling bin.
4) Log back into the game by double-clicking WoW.exe, ensuring that you do not reinstall any addons before doing so.

I understand that you've taken such steps before, however this time please ensure that the WTF, WDB and Inteface folders are deleted and then removed fully from the recycling bin, then restart your computer.

I have never seen any other reason for system messages not appearing other than interferance from a customer User Interface Modification.

I believe that system messages can be disabled by clicking on the Chat Window icon, selecting Channels, and unchecking it.

Not that I'm seeing, Sonic. Where is this?

Alright, that did the job. Time to start easing my Interface folder back in.

Awesome to hear that did the trick! Although I'm sorry you lost your custom user interface in the process.
