Explanation of the issue:
I've been working on the "Missing Courier" quest in Feralas by myself for the last couple of days. When I got the "Freed from the Hive" part of the chain, I met up with another player and we partied up so that it'd be easier to get through the Writhing Deep. Once we got to Raschal, the other player clicked on the cuccoon and freed him. I reacted a bit more slowly than the other player and then foolishly tried to interact with the cuccoon immediately instead of waiting for the other guy to finish. Once Raschal read his script and disappeared, we both thought that we were done. We ran out of there and disbanded the group.
I went back to Ginro Hearthkindle per my quest log, which now said that Raschal was free and that I should go back and let the questgiver know. However, Ginro wouldn't speak to me. I noticed that my quest log also didn't say "Complete". Seven attempts, six deaths, and a couple hours later with some newly made defense, health, and agility potions, I got back into the Writhing Deep, back to where Raschal was trapped, and I tried to get him out. However, the little "wheel" no longer came up when I moused over the cuccoon. I submitted a GM petition around 1 AM.
Proposed GM resolutions:
The first out-of-game email that I got from a GM told me that it was a UI issue: rename the folders; restart the computer; try again. I followed these instructions, but they did not solve the problem. Specifically, I was unable to turn in the completed quest to the questgiver.
I submitted another petition while I cooked dinner. Apparently, GMs won't contact you in In-Game if you're AFK. The second GM's instructions were the same as the first's. As a software tech support representative myself, I knew that I should probably try them again because I may have done something incorrectly. I deleted the new folders and rebooted my computer and launched the program from the WoW.EXE. The quest was still not marked as complete and I could not speak with Ginro.
I submitted another GM petition and a couple of hours later, I was told to abandon the quest and try to get it again. I followed these instructions, but I was still unable to speak with Ginro or Latronicus Moonspear who gave me the first quest in the chain. Moonspear would only speak to me about another quest.
I submitted another GM petition and three hours later, I was told to abandon the quest and get it again. I told the GM that I had done that already and that I no longer had the quest in my log to abandon. I told him that the solution had provided not resolution. The GM told me that he would send me an email with detailed instructions about how to rename the UI-related folders and that I would need to speak with tech support if the issue couldn't be resolved that way. The email ended with a suggestion that if none of the methods resolved my issue that I should speak with other players and check out the forums.
Current status:
I've abandoned all of my Feralas quests. I am trying to determine whether or not I should stop playing WoW for a few weeks and read a book.

I'm very sorry for the confusion this has caused, Megiddo. It should be possible to continue the quest by venturing into the Writhing Deep once again, and right-clicking on the pod to begin the "Freed from the Hive" quest. Good luck! :)
Who are you, masked mystery man?! Unveil yourself...
