Subject: Combat Log Disappearings
Ever since this preceding Tuesday (Something like August 15th I believe) my combat log will randomly disappear upon zone-ins and/or logins. It has happened to several people quite frequently in my guild as well, and I was wondering if maybe we could get a bit more light shed on the issue from a CM or the playerbase here on the CS forums.

I spoke with a GM about the issue, and he was basically "LOL TURN OFF EVERYTHING AND THAT FIXES IT!" No, that does not fix it. Removing a bullet with a bicycle doesn't solve my problem, it exacerbates it. I have turned off every single addon individually and zoned in/out of BRD a few times to see if I could pinpoint the cause, and it happened no matter what.

More to the point: If you are having the same problem, please post exactly what Addons you use. Here are mine:
Titan Panel
CT_MasterMod
BonusScanner
solColorChatNicks
TheoryCraft
CThunWarner
sct (scrolling combat text)

If you have multiples of these in common with me and are receiving the same problem, maybe we can come to a reasonable fix. Thanks!

(And, under the possibility that it is actually the game doing this and has nothing to do with my UIs or Addons, I believe a CM should be notified, as my experience with GM's in-game and through E-Mail has been significantly less than paletable.

Indeed, as Tawyn has stated, the solution that Game Masters will recommend in this situation is to reset your user interface (UI). This is due to the fact that the disappearance of the combat log is caused by a conflict with one of your custom UI addons. Disabling the addons is not a guaranteed solution, and therefore I would suggest tht you complete the following steps (exactly as stated):

    1) Log out of World of Warcraft to your desktop, thereby exiting the game completely.
    2) Navigate to the World of Warcraft folder, which is often found in the Program Files directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
    3) Either rename (or delete) the WTF, WDB, and Interface folders. (Note: If you do not wish to permanently lose any third-party addons you may have accrued, or macros you've written for your characters, you would be well-advised to merely rename the folders, rather than delete them entirely.)
    4) Log back into the game by double-clicking WoW.exe, ensuring that you do not reinstall any addons before doing so.
Once you've done so, please log in and check to ensure that the issue is resolved. If you decide that you would like to continue using your custom UI modifications, I would suggest that you make certain that you are using the most up-to-date versions available; we do not, however, provide any kind of support for custom UI addons (or any issues that they may cause). Please keep that in mind, Pinfeldorf - I hope this helps.
