Subject: Account closed - email says ok, Please help!
   Hello Blizzard GMs,
I am the GM of the oldest horde side guild (<No Life>) on Firetree (http://www.wownolife.com). Two days ago, a former guild member somehow gotten a hold of both my and another officer's password. This person used those information to login to my account and deleted various gears, my blacksmithing and enchanting professions, as well as mailed off almost the entire guild bank (a total worth of around 15k-20k gold).

Upon submitting an ticket, my account and the other officer's account were placed on suspension until proof of ownership could be provided. I have tried repeatly to fax in my information but for some reason the lines were busy (I have also mailed the information, it should arrive to your office sometime early next week).

The other officer's account was unbanned last night, and this morning I recieved this email from Blizzard admins

Q u o t e:
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we investigated the
situation that you reported. We have concluded our investigation of the
above account, and we were able to restore as much missing items and
gold as possible. We do apologize for any inconvenience this situation
may have caused you.

However, when I tried to log into my account, it stated that the account is now closed (instead of suspended). Should I be alarmed by this new development? Or does this simply mean that I need to wait for the varification process to complete?

Please help!

Thank you,

p.s. I am posting on my wife's account.

To start, I highly suggest removing the account name from your post. We can always discover the proper account simply by being provided the character and realm name. There is no real benefit in allowing other players to see the name of your account.

Based on the information I've reviewed in relation to this case, there should be no cause for additional alarm. To clariy, the account is locked, not closed. This is the "suspension" to which you're referring where we prevent any access of the account until the faxed/mailed verification of ownership can be processed. As soon as your information arrives, we will work to verify and secure account ownership for you. In the mean time, we apprecate your patience. = )
