Subject: my fault, bad idea...
A while back a friend told me he was gonna make a new character on the kael'thas server and that he would no longer be playing on the server my main and most of my alts are on. So not wanting to lose a friend i made a character on the same server...But i thought it would be cool to use special ascii characters in the name, figuring if the characters are illegeal blizzard would make it so i cannot complete the character completion with these characters...So the name Ðøçâ was created...Around level 25 it hit me that making a toon with this name was a very stupid idea, getting into a guild was very difficult and other players often came up to me and either asked "ZOMG HOW DO YOU GET YER LETTERS LIKE THAT *rambles*" or they would threaten to report me for the characters in my name...

So now i wish i would have never made a toon with these characters...Is there any chance that a GM would allow me to change my name, that would be great.

Q u o t e:
Submit an ingame ticket noting that your name does violate the naming policy by including special characters. When the GM gets to it, it will be changed and you will have to rename yourself when logging in.

This is correct, Zungaru; additionally, as you yourself are bringing a potential naming violation on your account to our attention, leniency should be shown to you. :)

Q u o t e:
Are characters such as á allowed?

If it isn't normally found on a standard 101/102 key keyboard, it's a no-go. That includes á. :)

Q u o t e:
Nooo:(( Okay..well, you should check out one of my characters on the other account I'm playing on. I have a character named Vereesa on it. Both Vereesa and the character in question are on Bronzebeard. The reason I used that character (by typing alt + a number), is that the original name I wanted had already been taken.

If you believe any characters on your account may have names which violate our policies, Silm, I'd advise you to submit a petition requesting to have them changed. :)

Q u o t e:
Pav, I am unable to log back with the character in question. What is going on? I haven't received either a message from a GM, or an email.

Edit: I cannot log in with ANY characters on the account in question.

So now after saying "disconnected from server" I got back in the game , for whatever reason...but the ticket is gone...

That's odd, because I still see the petition in our queue; it hasn't been closed or anything. You're certain you've logged in as the same character who submitted the ticket? :)

Q u o t e:
I'm sorry, I didn't see your post. I panicked. I shall delete the new post. No, I couldn't log on with that particular character. Which character should I be logged on with? The character in question, on Vereesa?

Thank you...sorry again.

Any character on that account should do, Silm; we can contact you regardless, once a Game Master is assigned to your petition. I'm more curious about these involuntary connections and disconnections, truthfully, but it sounds as if it may be a technical matter that shall be outside my influence. Can you describe the issue in more detail?

   This is going to sound odd, Silm, but is it at all possible that you had two versions of World of Warcraft open at once? I've had that happen to me, and I kept inadvertently disconnecting myself upon login. Truth be told, I haven't the slightest idea why that would have happened to you, but at least this is a possibility. ^^;
