Subject: Fishing tournament possible?

Yarr, I'm a respective Blood Sail Captain and I was wondering if anyone other Blood Sails knew any tricks to doing the fishing tournament. I'd love to do it for once and I know I can win it but all my characters are Blood Sail captains...

edit: That's right, I'll gank you in booty bay then kill the guards too.
