The title says it all, a firend and I are having a dispute, i say it its, he says no.

Saying "medieval-fantasy" is pretty generic, and I could agree that is does draw upon a lot of the traditional ideals of a medieval-fantasy setting; however there are so many differences that I cant really personally agree with that label being placed on World of Warcraft.
If were basing it on the meaning of the term, I would imagine it would be a setting on Earth during that time period and draw upon some of the history or stories of that time. If were basing it on the meaning of the technological and civic advancements, I would say that some of it may hold true, but engineering and other mythical influence sort of crumbles any stand the term medieval could sit upon. Personally, and unfortunately, I would have to agree with your friend in this case.
